Antoine Souma is a Financial Advisor and Managing Director with J.P. Morgan Securities, the wealth management division of J.P. Morgan. A founding member of the Souma Group, he and his team serve their select group of small business owners and high-net-worth clients as sophisticated fixed-income specialists focused on generating and preserving income for clients. Antoine also focuses on creating liquidity strategies that can help clients achieve a range of objectives without having to liquidate assets at an inopportune time.
Antoine typically prefers to deploy an actively managed barbell strategy that heavily weights his clients’ bond portfolios with very short-term assets on one side and more long-term, conservative assets on the other side. He believes this approach can achieve more total return without undermining the client’s risk tolerance within their entire investment portfolio. He looks to maximize yield on a daily basis rather than have a portfolio sitting in cash.
Another area of focus for Antoine is his fixed-income strategy. This is an absolute return-oriented strategy that systematically pursues relative value opportunities throughout all sectors of the fixed-income market without the constraints of a benchmark or significant sector and/or instrument limitations. This strategy is designed to offer the traditional benefits of a core bond approach—capital preservation, liquidity, and diversification—but with higher alpha potential and the opportunity to seek to mitigate downside risk to a greater degree than is possible in traditional active fixed-income management approaches.
Antoine has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Securities in 2010, Antoine was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank (2008-2010) where his primary responsibilities included investment management. Antoine began his career at UBS Financial Services Inc. where he was a Vice President (1999-2008). In 2016, Antoine was named one of Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisors and in 2012, Antoine was named one of Barron’s Top 1,000 Advisors.* He was also named to Barron’s prestigious Top 100 Advisors List for 2015.**
Antoine graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BSc in Economics. He subsequently earned his MSc in Economics from his Alma Matter. In his free time, Antoine enjoys alpine skiing and tennis. He is married with two daughters.

*The formula Barron's uses to rank advisors is proprietary. It has three major components: assets managed, revenue produced and quality of practice. Investment returns are not a component of the rankings because an advisor's returns are dictated largely by the risk tolerance of clients. The quality-of-practice component includes an evaluation of each advisor's regulatory record.
**The rankings are based on data provided by over 4,000 of the nation’s most productive advisors. Factors included in the rankings: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work. Investment performance isn’t an explicit component because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are influenced more by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment-picking abilities.
